The very city flooded in white steam\u2026. That is what Gabriel Guerra Bianchini fantasizes, breaking \u201cthe damn circumstance,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMake my wish come true of bringing us at least a horizon,\u201d the photographer asks. \u201cAllow me to fill this plaza with clouds; they are my utopia, the horizon and hope.\u201d The clouds are the ones he has photographed for a long time; the plaza is that of Havana\u2019s Cathedral Square, which in the 498 years the city celebrated on November 17 made its premier as an open-air gallery.<\/p>\n<p>Ten giantographies make up \u201c\u2026Es la esperanza\u201d; for Bianchini, his \u201cmost desired personal exhibition.\u201d The works, printed on canvas, take up the arches of the traditional Havana square.<\/p>\n<p>The creation process, Gabriel explains, is very simple. \u201cIt is the superimposition of two photos, two spaces. The clouds I have collected for years and spaces of my Havana with their characters.\u201d He also tries to make \u201ceach cloud fit in, in the direction in which the light is shown as well as its tones.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Memorandum<\/h3>\n<p>Why clouds? \u201cIn the midst of so much chaos,\u201d says Gabriel, \u201cdrawing a focal point with the immensity is remembering how small we are, how insignificant this running around is, how simple are the things that really matter, and that calm that lives beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The photographer of the bare elegance of Havana again resorts to the city as a stage. He breathes the art that is in the street and wants to be part of that movement. This time he is also pleased that it is \u201cprecisely one of Cuba\u2019s most visited places.\u201d He wants to bet on art being \u201cat the reach of citizens, of the neighbors of the space they take up, of everybody. Without being closed in by any wall. A couple was leaving the church and went by to look at the photographs. The photographer was giving the finishing touches.
