One of the most dynamic and renewing companies of Cuban contemporary dance is back on the stage. Interesting about the work of DanzAbierta is their ability to blur the limits that may exist between the different styles of dancing and interpretation; to create bridges, to go from one state to another without being noisy or tedious.<\/p>\n
Their most recent performance took place a few months ago, exactly in March 2012, with the choreography Showroom of the authorship of master Susana Pous and music by X Alfonso.<\/p>\n
They will now be back at the recently inaugurated cultural center “Raquel Revuelta” in the neighborhood of Vedado, at the end of the present month, to charm all those who could not enjoy seeing them in their world premiere and to make those who were there recall the good moments enjoyed on that occasion.<\/p>\n
It is interesting how Pous, in her choreographic work, creates an aesthetics that attempts to reveal the mask, but not the outer one we can touch, but the one we carry inside and makes us different persons; the resemblance existing between the two poles of the human being when mystery and forbidden tone down sorrow, pain, pleasure and agony in the interpreters.<\/p>\n
Regardless of the stage, although the title may seem a copy of Tropicana, whether on the stage of a famous night club or in the streets where life goes by, the will to achieve success and stand out, regardless of obstacles, must prevail inside each individual.<\/p>\n
The stage will turn into a showroom in two different moments, making it possible to see those who stand before a public in a night club to offer their art, and those they turn into when they go back stage, all thanks to an impressive complement of wardrobe, lights and stage decoration, together with the talent for interpretation of the dancers.<\/p>\n
DanzAbierta is a company that knows how to masterly combine contemporary and modern dance, with contributions of classics and theater interpretation. It has already staged other choreographies with equal acceptance, among them Malson, which was a complete success both in Cuba and beyond because of the rich way in which the dance is merged and understood as a space of differences that grant unitary meaning to the choreographic work in a unique and unequalled life.<\/p>\n
