Maridalia, with unparalleled charisma and communication power that excited the audience, sang \u00a8Para quedarte\u00a8, her most “demanded work”, which she barely remembers and always intends to remove from the list of her performances, but someone always mentions it and she must \u00a8 gladly interpret it .\u201c That hit has marked her career, dating back 32 years, and with it, she won the first prize at Vi\u00f1a del Mar Festival (Chile) in 1986.<\/p>\n
However, the Dominican singer wanted to make a review of her professional life in the Caribbean island. This is a land of music and she wanted to show here her way of interpreting the Cuban repertoire, hence we could appreciate the songs \u00a8Drume negrita\u00a8, by Eliseo Grenet, where we saw a very personal and contagious version; \u00a8Vamos a ver\u00a8, by David Torrens, and \u00a8A puro grito\u00a8, by Amaury Gutierrez. This last piece is part of her album \u00a8Libre\u00a8, which she is also promoting in Havana.<\/p>\n
Her contact with Cubans was also magical, so she wanted to invite a guitar virtuoso, maestro Rey Montesinos, to accompany her on two boleros: \u00a8Honor a la verdad\u00a8 and Hiereme\u00a8. While she also sang a version of Adalberto Alvarez\u00b4s \u00a8A Bayamo en coche\u00a8, which she preferred calling \u00a8A Santiago en coche\u00a8, to pay homage to the city where s he was born in, Santiago de los Caballeros.<\/p>\n
From the famous merengue from her country, Maridalia brought \u00a8Morivivi\u00a8, while she also evoked, in a combination of that rhythm with flamenco, the work \u00a8Vivo enamorao\u00a8, by Camar\u00f3n de la Isla.<\/p>\n
Her duo with her compatriot Sonia Silvestre was a special moment of the night, and also the interpretation of singles immortalized with Juan Luis Guerra and 440 orchestra. From her stay in that group she performed \u00a8Amor de c onuco \u00a8 and the hit \u00a8 Ojal\u00e1 que llueva caf\u00e9\u00a8 .<\/p>\n
