{"id":204123,"date":"2019-08-12T13:32:45","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T17:32:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=204123"},"modified":"2019-08-12T13:32:45","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T17:32:45","slug":"nitrogenized-fertilizer-factory-in-cienfuegos-already-producing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/nitrogenized-fertilizer-factory-in-cienfuegos-already-producing\/","title":{"rendered":"Nitrogenized Fertilizer Factory in Cienfuegos already producing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The largest fertilizer factory in Cuba, with the name of NPK Nitrogenized Fertilizer Factory (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium), the result of a Cuban-Indian investment made in the industrial area of \u200b\u200bCienfuegos, is already producing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The industry, with capacity to produce 300,000 tons per year\u2015with a production capacity of 55 tons of fertilizer per hour\u2015plans to produce 79,300 tons in what remains of 2019, with which it must guarantee 70 percent of the fertilizer needed for the cold planting season, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.granma.cu\/cuba\/2019-08-10\/npk-de-cienfuegos-nueva-gema-industrial-del-pais-10-08-2019-00-08-31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">according<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the daily <em>Granma<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NPK\u2019s production will reduce by about 25 percent the current import costs for substances such as ammonium sulfate, diammonium phosphate, phosphorus and potassium chloride.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The national industry contributes the zeolite\u2015the complement for that mixed fertilizer\u2015from the Ranchuelo and Villa Clara deposits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The construction of the plant belonging to the chemical enterprise EQUIFA of the Ministry of Industries, was executed with the support of the engineering company AAR ESS EXIM, from India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The investment that <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcm.cu\/fertilizantes-fabrica-npk-cienfuegos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">began in the beginning of 2017<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has not ended, since a second stage is missing, which it will reach until 2020 and includes three large warehouses for raw materials, transportation vehicles and factory protection systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The total cost is 41 million dollars\u2015or pesos, considering the parity of the official exchange rate\u2015which includes about four million dollars contributed by an Indian loan for financing equipment and technologies. India is also participating in the project with technical advice and training.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"8SflFko9hW\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-la-india-mas-cooperacion\/\">Cuba y la India por m\u00e1s cooperaci\u00f3n<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abCuba y la India por m\u00e1s cooperaci\u00f3n\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-la-india-mas-cooperacion\/embed\/#?secret=0qpQS3GlHl#?secret=8SflFko9hW\" data-secret=\"8SflFko9hW\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fertilizers will be applied in various crops such as vegetables, coffee, tobacco, cocoa, grains and pastures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially, the first phase of the plant\u2015called the minimum startup complex\u2015should have been ready at the end of December, to start in January 2019, Cienfuegos\u2019 daily 5 de septiembre <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.5septiembre.cu\/concluyo-en-cienfuegos-montaje-estructural-de-mayor-fabrica-de-fertilizantes-del-pais\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported in October 2018<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
