The U.S. government announced this Thursday that it had asked two members of the Cuban mission to the <\/span>UN<\/span><\/a> to leave the country for having “engaged in activities harmful to U.S. national security.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“After 2 members of Cuba\u2019s UN mission engaged in activities harmful to U.S. national security, we asked them to leave the U.S.,” State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a message on Twitter, without giving further details.<\/span><\/p>\n

The U.S. Executive has also restricted the rest of the members of the Cuban mission to the international organization from now on to stay in Manhattan, the business and administrative center of New York and where the building that serves as headquarters for the United Nations is located.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Members of Cuba\u2019s UN mission are also restricted to stay in Manhattan. We take any & all attempts against the National Security of the U.S. seriously,” said Ortagus.<\/span><\/p>\n
