We lay fundaments for a long-standing development agreement between <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WBSC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@WBSC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CubanaBeisbol?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CubanaBeisbol<\/a> to the benefit of national and global baseball. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4HrviPf1JJ\">pic.twitter.com\/4HrviPf1JJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Riccardo Fraccari (@WBSCPresident) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WBSCPresident\/status\/1186356309878284288?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 21, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The agreement stipulates that the island&#8217;s baseball federation, headed by Higinio V\u00e9lez, will make a list with the athletes that have the possibility of being hired by foreign clubs, while the entity chaired by Fraccari will serve as liaison between Cuba and the organizations and teams interested in the services of Cuban players.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, it includes other aspects of great value such as \u201cthe construction of facilities, supply of sports equipment, formation and training of trainers and specialists, and academic exchanges,\u201d explained the WBSC leader, quoted by <em>PL<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For several years, Cuba has opened the doors to professionalism in various disciplines, including baseball, and to hiring by foreign clubs. However, the process has not flowed equally in all sports or prevented the emigration of athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, thanks to this policy, a growing group of Cuban athletes are competing professionally for foreign clubs, in disciplines as diverse as volleyball, cycling, soccer and basketball.
