{"id":208530,"date":"2019-10-31T19:03:59","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T23:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=208530"},"modified":"2019-10-31T19:11:55","modified_gmt":"2019-10-31T23:11:55","slug":"more-than-110000-cuban-families-have-internet-at-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/more-than-110000-cuban-families-have-internet-at-home\/","title":{"rendered":"More than 110,000 Cuban families have internet at home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than 110,000 Cuban families already have the Nauta Hogar service, which facilitates <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/internet-en-cuba\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Internet access<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at home\u2015with ADSL technology\u2015to customers residing in different areas of the island.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since this service started being marketed in March 2017, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/etecsa-es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuban Telecommunications Enterprise, ETECSA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, has installed it in all the country\u2019s municipalities, except Sibanic\u00fa, in Camag\u00fcey, the <em>Cuban News Agency (ACN)<\/em> <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acn.cu\/cuba\/51267-mas-de-110-mil-100-hogares-cubanos-beneficiados-con-el-servicio-nauta-hogar?fbclid=IwAR0vpU0cImuwemVTxP8vBowZXiSJBLeCx2giSqMcWMS8HGF1yxOKjoj9hwM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nauta Hogar started being implemented in December 2016, with a pilot test that included 858 homes in Old Havana, which were provided with the service free of charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"oxBKMTxnWg\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tendencias\/tecnologia\/mas-nauta-hogar-la-habana-desde-fines-octubre\/\">M\u00e1s Nauta Hogar en La Habana, desde fines de octubre<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abM\u00e1s Nauta Hogar en La Habana, desde fines de octubre\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tendencias\/tecnologia\/mas-nauta-hogar-la-habana-desde-fines-octubre\/embed\/#?secret=mYBKMCFNJT#?secret=oxBKMTxnWg\" data-secret=\"oxBKMTxnWg\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the current Nauta Hogar users, approximately 107,800 have contracts for broadband connection, which exceeds one mega, executives of the telecommunications monopoly in Cuba told the news agency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this service, customers must reside in one of the areas where it is marketed, be a landline user and have a telephone line with the technical conditions that allow establishing a data transmission link.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In October ETECSA promoted a new commercial offer for the speed of 1024\/256 Kbps, the lowest, whose monthly fee was set at 10.00 CUC (Cuban convertible pesos, equivalent to the dollar) with 20 hours of netsurfing.
