(ETECSA)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when preparing basic telephone contracts, links this service only to the legal domicile of the contract holder, the official media reported this Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The people who contract the telephone service as of the entry into force of the new resolution, in January 2020, will not be able to move their landline with them in case they change homes, according to the regulation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIf the user moves, the service can be transferred to any person who continues to reside in that home or can continue to own it, although the service would remain at the previous address,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.granma.cu\/cuba\/2019-11-28\/nueva-resolucion-de-etecsa-para-la-telefonia-basica-residencial-28-11-2019-23-11-43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">explained<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the newspaper <em>Granma<\/em> citing Adalis Montiel, deputy director of ETECSA\u2019s landline services department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, landline owners whose contracts were signed under the previous legislation do have the right to request the transfer of the service to another home, provided it is their new legal address and ETECSA has the necessary infrastructure for its installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ETECSA?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ETECSA<\/a> iniciar\u00e1 la implementaci\u00f3n de nueva normativa para los tel\u00e9fonos fijos a partir del 8\/01\/2020 e ir\u00e1 informando en los diferentes canales de comunicaci\u00f3n de la entidad sobre este tema. As a condition, this person must legally reside in the home where the telephone service is installed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is no designated person in the contract, the beneficiary will be the one who legally receives the right to housing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Montiel, ETECSA has allocated around 60% of the resources planned for the growth of the service every year to the installation of 30,000 transfers.
