It will be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/relaciones-cuba-espana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spain\u2019s second on the island<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, after the one in Havana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The increase in Spanish consular presence in Cuba will be, as in other countries, a tool to meet the growing network of expatriate Spaniards, in addition to attracting tourism and business, <\/span><em><a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/politica\/2019\/12\/15\/actualidad\/1576437085_808265.html?fbclid=IwAR1SZISXdsiZOboyoDheGj8teHRSoT8r9fiT8QuHEfvq55WOinpncniEKp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Pa\u00eds<\/span><\/a><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a stage of \u201cwithdrawal of consulates abroad\u201d as a result of the economic crisis, Spain is working on opening new consular offices in other countries, or strengthening the 182 that it has worldwide, the publication says.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"CkaKAwWQDH\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/diaz-canel-se-reune-con-josep-borrell\/\">D\u00edaz-Canel se re\u00fane con Josep Borrell<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abD\u00edaz-Canel se re\u00fane con Josep Borrell\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/diaz-canel-se-reune-con-josep-borrell\/embed\/#?secret=gNWiluU9k4#?secret=CkaKAwWQDH\" data-secret=\"CkaKAwWQDH\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to<em> El Pa\u00eds<\/em>, since 2006, just before the crisis, the number of Spaniards who emigrated has grown by 75%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Those 2.8 million expatriate citizens need consular offices to carry out important procedures, such as those related to identity documents and participation in elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the Spanish government, one of the main goals is to streamline the processes that open the door to tourists and businesspeople. With the socialist Pedro S\u00e1nchez in charge of the Executive\u2015an open possibility given his victory in the most recent elections\u2015those figures could grow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spain has a consulate in Havana, located on Zulueta Street, corner of C\u00e1rcel.
