This Thursday\u00a0 the U.S. State Department included Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba Leopoldo Cintra Fr\u00edas and two of his children in its list of people who are prohibited from entering the <\/span>United States<\/span><\/a> for alleged \u201cserious human rights violations\u201d in support of the government of Nicol\u00e1s Maduro in Venezuela.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a press release that this <\/span>measure<\/span><\/a> is taken in case of having \u201ccredible information\u201d that foreign government officials have been involved in significant corruption or a serious violation of human rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today we designate #Cuba<\/a> regime official Leopoldo Cintra Frias for his involvement in gross violations of human rights and use of violence to prop up the former Maduro regime in #Venezuela<\/a>. We will promote accountability for those who abuse human rights, wherever they may reside.<\/p>\n
