The Cuban singer talks about the separation of Buena Vista Social Club and the intense period presentations he will have in 2014 with his group Patria and the Banda del Jig\u00fce<\/p>\n
Full of projects and still with the taste that left him the 2012Latin Grammy award, Eliades Ochoa said this Saturday he feels like one of his lyrics goes. And to emphasize it he used the catchy phrase to conclude this interview with OnCuba , which addressed important issues such as a new phonographic production with Cuban label Bis Music, and the final separation of the Buena Vista Social Club project, announced by its members on this 2014.<\/p>\n
On his schedule of activities for the next twelve months, Eliades was very enlightening:\u201d I would say I do not like that the phrase” solo “, because I will work with the Banda del Jig\u00fce and Patria group. With Buena Vista Social Club I’m doing something like fulfilling a duty, being the founder of this project.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, if Buena Vista Social Club will say goodbye to the world, I think Eliades should be there. So I am fulfilling that duty, \u201cOchoa said.<\/p>\n
– And as part of that farewell of Buena Vista, what actions are planned?<\/p>\n
– Many. We have presentations around the world. Well, it also announced a tour of Cuba and I do not know if it is still confirmed or not. We want to do it, to take home the affection of the people who know us and help us.<\/p>\n
But Eliades has not stayed in that Trilogy that over a year ago Egrem label premiered and of which Un Bolero para ti is part of, that won the Latin Grammy.<\/p>\n
– As for the discography I will tell you that I will release this year an album I made with Bis Music, named El Eliades que soy, and that includes a documentary about my life. Very nice material and they showed me how is coming out and is great. In the disc Patria performs is its quartet format, and played the themes of the late 70s , which was when I took the leadership of this group .<\/p>\n
– What message do you send to the public Cuban that loves your music?<\/p>\n
To thank Cubans for the support, the warmth, the love they give me, their respect and admiration because what I do, I do it thinking about them and that\u2019s why I think things come out well for me, simply because they further support me to continue doing hard things anytime and anywhere I am.<\/p>\n
