Universidad de las Ciencias Inform\u00e1ticas (@universidad_uci) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/universidad_uci\/status\/1225448634013167616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 6, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Channeled to redouble the protection of cyberspace on the island, the career will consist of four years, and will train professionals on a broad profile, dedicated to managing and monitoring the computer networks of organizations, to ensure their safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graduates of the new university career will also be responsible for the protection of the technologies through which information is created, processed, stored and transmitted, Montesinos explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe engineer will be in a position to design cybersecurity systems based on a risk analysis, configure and manage technical controls such as intrusion detection systems,\u201d said the first deputy rector of the computer science center, which has an enrollment of 3,600 students, according to <em>Prensa Latina<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Montesinos said that the UCI has the resources and bibliography to guarantee the training of the students in cybersecurity engineering, a career that will open for the first time in Cuba in the middle of the government policy of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/informatizacion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">computerization<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of its institutions and the rest of the social activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last November the island incorporated into its legislation the authorization to conduct undercover investigations and employ electronic surveillance, which adds to a trend in the continent.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"qYEFzM786j\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/cuba-legalizes-electronic-surveillance-without-a-court-order\/\">Cuba legalizes electronic surveillance without a court order<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute;
