{"id":215091,"date":"2020-03-07T10:39:38","date_gmt":"2020-03-07T15:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=215091"},"modified":"2020-03-07T10:39:38","modified_gmt":"2020-03-07T15:39:38","slug":"cuba-exhibits-its-products-in-mexico-in-search-of-more-trade-and-exports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/cuba-exhibits-its-products-in-mexico-in-search-of-more-trade-and-exports\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba exhibits its products in Mexico in search of more trade and exports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around 70 Cuban enterprises are exhibiting their products in <a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mexico<\/a> since this Wednesday, in an Expofair considered the largest of its kind the island has organized abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The event, whose scenario is the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in that nation, seeks to boost bilateral trade and promote exports to Mexico, at a time when political ties are going through a good moment after the arrival of Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, named Cuba in Mexico 2020 and which will last until this Friday, is exhibiting Cuban export products, produced by enterprises from various sectors such as agribusiness, construction and biotechnology. During the event, \u201cmeetings are being held between businesspeople where possible exports are identified,\u201d said on Twitter Cuban Foreign Trade Minister Rodrigo Malmierca, who participated in the opening.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">En marco Exposici\u00f3n de productos cubanos de exportaci\u00f3n CUBA EN M\u00c9XICO 2020 se realizan reuniones entre empresarios donde se identifican posibles exportaciones. Representadas empresas de diversos sectores como agroindustria, construcci\u00f3n y biotecnolog\u00eda <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/SomosCuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#SomosCuba<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINCEX_CUBA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MINCEX_CUBA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/F1L2RPSWwP\">pic.twitter.com\/F1L2RPSWwP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Rodrigo Malmierca D\u00edaz (@R_Malmierca) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/R_Malmierca\/status\/1235345730027610113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 4, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Malmierca told reporters that there are potentials to continue strengthening economic relations between the two countries and said that Cuba has \u201cexcellent conditions\u201d to grow in exports and \u201cattract Mexican capital investment in different branches of industry and the economy,\u201d according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acn.cu\/economia\/61824-malmierca-diaz-a-pesar-del-bloqueo-cuba-sigue-adelante\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statements cited<\/a> by the <em>Agencia Cubana de Noticias<\/em> news agency.<\/p>\n<p>On the opening day, attended by authorities of both countries, the Cuba-Mexico Business Committee\u2019s 2020-2021 Action Plan was signed by Antonio Carricarte, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba, and Valent\u00edn Diez Morodo, president of the Mexican Foreign Trade Council.<\/p>\n<p>An agreement was also signed between the Cuban Ministry of Education and the Technical University of Guanajuato, and the signing of other mechanisms was expected.<\/p>\n<p>During the sessions of the fair, panels and workshops were also held on topics related to public health and agribusiness products, among others, as well as business rounds in which Cuba&#8217;s commercial offers were analyzed for the Mexican market, and Mexican entrepreneurs\u2019 possibilities of investing on the island.<\/p>\n<p>Trade between Cuba and Mexico amounted to 424 million dollars in 2019, with a surplus for Mexico of 390 million. Other areas in which both governments aspire to expand collaboration are education, health, sports, tourism and culture, Miguel D\u00edaz Reynoso, Mexican ambassador to the island, said to <strong>OnCuba<\/strong> last year.
