We advise you not to use large volumes of data on the mobile network, so that the traffic capacity can be shared among all,\u201d said the executive president of the state enterprise, Mayra Arevich, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cubadebate.cu\/noticias\/2020\/03\/26\/etecsa-trabaja-por-mantener-estabilidad-de-sus-servicios-ante-incremento-del-trafico\/#.Xn0JHFPB_qu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quoted<\/a> by the official <em>Cubadebate<\/em> site.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official, since three days ago there has been a growth in traffic of more than 10% of additional volume on mobile networks, at a time when the government has asked Cubans to stay as long as possible in their homes and practice social isolation.<\/p>\n<p>Added to this is the growing concern of people about the expansion of the coronavirus outbreak, which this Thursday had 67 confirmed cases and two deaths in Cuba, and their desire to communicate with family and friends living in other countries affected by the disease.<\/p>\n<p>Arevich reported through the Twitter social network that ETECSA \u201cis engaged in guaranteeing the stability of the voice and data network in times of constant vigilance over COVID-19 in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She explained that using mobile data requires seven times more network resources than voice.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"0ZXhUry40u\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-llega-a-seis-millones-de-lineas-moviles\/\">Cuba llega a seis millones de l\u00edneas m\u00f3viles<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abCuba llega a seis millones de l\u00edneas m\u00f3viles\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-llega-a-seis-millones-de-lineas-moviles\/embed\/#?secret=ltpAeJS5e8#?secret=0ZXhUry40u\" data-secret=\"0ZXhUry40u\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cVoice calls guarantee fundamental communications with the emergency services and with our health system,\u201d she said, and asked Cubans that \u201cfor the good of all, we take care of the network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, she did not refer to the demand of many Cubans who these days have asked ETECSA to lower the prices of Internet connection and telephone service, in order to be well-informed about the evolution of the pandemic and communicate better with their loved ones inside and outside the island.<\/p>\n<p>Nor did she mention the complaints of those who claim that connectivity and telephone service have worsened in recent days, although her statements are undoubtedly an indirect response to these allegations.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, the vice president of Network Integration affirmed that the enterprise is working on capacity growth to receive more traffic and new customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are preparing 20 new radio bases that will start operating in the coming days.
