Yoruba priests from Cuba agreed that the coronavirus pandemic <\/a>affecting the world today was caused by ideological rivalry between the topmost political personalities worldwide. The priests came to this conclusion after studying the If\u00e1 predictions in the Letter of the Year, released last January, for \u201ca better understanding of events.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf\u00e1 is pointing to this rivalry as the main cause of the origin of the pandemic that, in reality, is being established and spreading, fundamentally, at all the entrances and borders of a city,\u201d says a post by the Yoruba Cultural Association of Cuba on Facebook, based on the reinterpretation of texts from its religious system.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot classify who is inclined to Good nor who is inclined to Evil since, Good and Evil, are two very relative concepts. In this contemporary world, everyone embraces the Ideology that they consider Good, while others consider it Evil,\u201d explained the priests, for whom the spread of the pathogen may be due to conflicts between people with opposite positions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this case, harmful medicinal preparations are used as an offensive weapon, causing certain ailments, very similar to those caused by the coronavirus,\u201d they indicate.<\/p>\n

The priests, grouped in the Yoruba Cultural Association and the Miguel Febles Padr\u00f3n Organizing Commission, presented If\u00e1\u2019s predictions for Cuba and the world, at the beginning of last January in a ceremony in which the awaited Letter of the Year<\/a> was revealed.<\/p>\n

According to the religious ritual, Osh\u00fan, the queen of fresh waters, fertility, femininity, love and great protector of the family, is the ruling deity, along with Obbatal\u00e1 as an accompanying deity who defends peace and tranquility.<\/p>\n

This Letter of the Year had already warned of an \u201cincrease in infectious contagious diseases caused by promiscuity\u201d and the \u201cproliferation of epidemics due to poor hygiene and social indiscipline.\u201d However, after the expansion of COVID-19, the priests considered it necessary to reassess Ifa\u2019s predictions for 2020 because, as they explain, \u201cmany consider that the arrival of this pandemic should have been warned.\u201d<\/p>\n

To do this, they again analyzed two narrations, one about \u201cthe discussion between Ol\u00f3fin and \u00c8bita\u201d and the other about \u201cthe rivalry between \u00d2r\u00fanm\u00ecl\u00e0 and the Black Ram,\u201d from which they extracted new interpretations, which refer to the \u201crefusal of contrariety or sudden tragedy caused by the negative actions of our social environment or enemies,\u201d the danger of the \u201cincrease in victims caused by the pandemic\u201d and difficulties in performing funeral services.<\/p>\n

They also comment on \u201cthe omission that many high-level personalities assume and not provide due support, abandoning the underprivileged to their fate\u201d and narrate the negative action in one of the stories of the B\u00e0b\u00e1l\u00fa Ay\u00e9 and \u00d2g\u00fan orishas, recognized, respectively, as the owner of diseases and the God of Death, until they were finally dominated by Ol\u00f3fin.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth \u2013B\u00e0b\u00e1l\u00fa Ay\u00e9 and \u00d2g\u00fan\u2013 originate a crisis accompanied by rivalries, disease and death, spiritual potentials that distinguish it,\u201d explain the Yoruba priests, who interpret that the responsibility to overcome the disease, \u201cin part, should rest with the professionals in the field of medical sciences, mainly in genetics, virology and biotechnology, sectors where new forms of microscopic life are created.\u201d This, they say, \u201ccan be difficult as long as you do not have the support of the most powerful and the support of the leaders of the world, representatives of Ol\u00f3fin in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

As a safeguard against disease, they recommend the Ebb\u00f3 or ceremonies with offerings and sacrifices associated with what is interpreted in both narratives and suggest \u201ccertain medicinal plants that could be recommended to eradicate or, to a certain extent, remove the impact of the pandemic,\u201d such as Calaguala \u2013also known as Palm Fern\u2013 and Ginger, from which the \u00d2r\u00fanm\u00ecl\u00e0 orisha had a healing tisane in the second narration.<\/p>\n
