Three deaths are added to the mortality records of the disease, bringing the total number of affected to 21 fatal cases and 726 infections, <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=4779\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to this Monday\u2019s Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) daily briefing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of those confirmed, 56 were Cuban citizens and a foreigner (Bolivia). Of these, one has a source of infection outside the island (Spain) and 49 were in contact with confirmed cases. The source of infection was not specified in seven of them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the note, \u201cOf the 57 diagnosed cases, 35 are female (61.4%) and 22 are male (38.5%).\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 57 nuevos casos de 2 076 pruebas realizadas, para un acumulado de 726 casos en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa 568 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable<br \/>\u25aa7 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>\u25aa7 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>\u25aa21 fallecidos<br \/>\u25aa121 altas<br \/>\u25aa2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qE2I6HRMs5\">https:\/\/t.co\/qE2I6HRMs5<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ISHBDYzRp4\">pic.twitter.com\/ISHBDYzRp4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1249719331400953858?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The age groups most affected in this group are: under 40 (17) and between 40 and 60 (14), which represents 29.8% and 24.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Of the positive cases, 63.1% (36) were asymptomatic.<\/p>\n<p>The residence by province and municipality is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Havana: 15 (from the municipalities of Centro Habana and Diez de Octubre, 3 each; Plaza de la Revoluci\u00f3n and Cerro, 2 each; Habana del Este, Marianao, La Lisa, Arroyo Naranjo and Boyeros, 1 each)<\/li>\n<li>Matanzas: 1 (from Matanzas municipality)<\/li>\n<li>Villa Clara: 8 (from Manicaragua 4, Camajuan\u00ed, Santo Domingo, Santa Clara and Placetas, 1 each)<\/li>\n<li>Ciego de \u00c1vila: 1 (from Mor\u00f3n municipality)<\/li>\n<li>Camag\u00fcey: 1 (from Camag\u00fcey municipality)<\/li>\n<li>Holgu\u00edn: 17 (from Banes 11, Holgu\u00edn 3, Gibara 2 and Cacocum 1)<\/li>\n<li>Santiago de Cuba: 3 (from the municipality of Santiago de Cuba)<\/li>\n<li>Guant\u00e1namo: 3 (from Baracoa municipality)<\/li>\n<li>Isla de la Juventud: 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The deceased registered until midnight yesterday were: a 62-year-old Cuban, resident in C\u00e1rdenas municipality, Matanzas. He had a history of high blood pressure and had been admitted to the Mario Mu\u00f1oz Monroy Hospital where he was \u201cwith mechanical ventilation, clinical and respiratory deterioration, elements of multiple organ dysfunction (respiratory, cardiovascular and renal).\u201d He presented \u201csevere respiratory distress and hemodynamic instability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second victim corresponds to another 83-year-old Cuban who lived in Spain. He had a history of chronic lung disease and \u201cpresented a picture of respiratory deterioration and required mechanical ventilation, hemodynamically unstable and multiple organ failure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A 75-year-old Cuban woman who lived in Cacocum, Holgu\u00edn also died. She had a history of high blood pressure and had been diagnosed with bronchopneumonia, with X ray that showed a pleural effusion or possible lung neoplasia, in addition to suspected cerebrovascular disease. \u201cShe had a hospital stay of more than 15 days and her condition worsened with marked respiratory distress, severe inflammatory pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the close of April 12, at the time of this statistical cut, seven people were reported in critical condition and seven serious. One hundred and twenty-one persons have been discharged.<\/p>\n<p>To date, 2,305 patients have been admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance.
