{"id":217404,"date":"2020-04-14T13:25:45","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T17:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=217404"},"modified":"2020-04-14T13:25:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-14T17:25:45","slug":"covid-19-update-in-cuba-766-total-infections-no-new-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/covid-19-update-in-cuba-766-total-infections-no-new-deaths\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 update in Cuba: 766 total infections, no new deaths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Public Health <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=4789\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(MINSAP) reported this Tuesday<\/a> that Cuba had, until midnight on Monday the 13th, 766 confirmed cases, after adding 40 new COVID-19 positives.<\/p>\n<p>The number of deaths remains at 21 as a result of the disease, and this is thanks, in some way, to the monitoring of the system created to prevent it.<\/p>\n<p>According to this information, so far the country has made 18,864 tests. Also, the cases detected in asymptomatic persons represent an example of the management of the disease on the island. Yesterday, 63.1% of the new positive cases had been detected without symptoms; today, 20%.<\/p>\n<p>However, the number of hospitalizations continues to grow: at the close of this information, 2,501 patients were in this situation. Of these, 22 are contact of confirmed cases, one was in contact with a traveler, and the source of infection is investigated for 17.<\/p>\n<p>Of this total, 21 are female (52.5%) and 19 are male (47.5%), and the most affected age groups are: 40 to 60 years (15) and those under 40 (15), who represents 37.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The residence by province and municipality of those infected reported today is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Havana: 29 (from Centro Habana municipality 6; Habana del Este 5; Marianao 4; La lisa and Cerro, 3 each; Diez de Octubre and Cotorro, 2 each; Playa, Guanabacoa, Boyeros and Arroyo Naranjo 1 each)<\/li>\n<li>Mayabeque: 2 (from the municipalities of San Jos\u00e9 de las Lajas and Madruga).<\/li>\n<li>Villa Clara: 1 (from Cifuentes municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Sancti Sp\u00edritus: 3 (from the municipality of Sancti Sp\u00edritus 2 and Cabaigu\u00e1n with 1).<\/li>\n<li>Ciego de \u00c1vila: 2 (from the municipalities of Ciego de \u00c1vila and Mor\u00f3n).<\/li>\n<li>Holgu\u00edn: 1 (from Mayar\u00ed municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Guant\u00e1namo: 2 (from Baracoa municipality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of the patients diagnosed to date, 599 have a stable clinical evolution. MINSAP reports two evacuees and 132 discharges (eleven more yesterday).
