The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported 48 new infections, bringing the number to 1,347.<\/p>\n<p>MINSAP also reported two deceased, bringing the number of deaths to 58 since the pandemic started on the island. Yesterday, 50 people were discharged, seven patients were reported in critical condition and five were in serious condition.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased are two men: one 85 years old, resident in the municipality of Manicaragua, Villa Clara with a history of diabetes mellitus, hypertension and bedridden; the other was 63 years old and resided in Santiago de Cuba. She had a history of glaucoma and paranoid schizophrenia. This is their geographical origin:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artemisa: 4 cases (the municipalities of San Antonio de los Ba\u00f1os, G\u00fcira de Melena, Mariel and Guanajay, 1 each).<\/li>\n<li>Havana: 26 cases (5 from the municipality of San Miguel del Padr\u00f3n, 4 from the municipalities of Centro Habana and Regla; 3 from Marianao; Diez de Octubre, Arroyo Naranjo and Cerro, 2 each; Cotorro, Guanabacoa, Playa and Plaza de la Revolution, 1 each).<\/li>\n<li>Matanzas: 8 cases (3 from C\u00e1rdenas municipality; Matanzas and Jovellanos municipalities, 2 each; 1 from Col\u00f3n municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Cienfuegos: 2 cases (from Cienfuegos municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Sancti Sp\u00edritus: 1 case (from Cabaigu\u00e1n municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Camag\u00fcey: 1 case (from Camag\u00fcey municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Holgu\u00edn: 5 cases (3 from Holgu\u00edn municipality; 2 from Gibara municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Santiago de Cuba: 1 case (from the Santiago de Cuba municipality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of this total, 33 people had contact with confirmed cases and the source of infection is not specified in 15 individuals.<\/p>\n<p>The relationship between men and women is the same (24) and the most affected age groups correspond to: under 40, with 45.8%, followed by the group of people between 40 to 60 years (29.1%); 28 patients were asymptomatic.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of yesterday, April 27, 3,330 people remained hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance and another 6,742 were under primary healthcare surveillance at home.<\/p>\n<p>Cuba has processed a total of 43,508 tests to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a day of declining infections by COVID-19, the figures in Cuba are rising again today.
