At the close of the fourth day of May, only 17 infections were reported, while confirming there were no deaths.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, up to the present, 1,685 patients have been registered on the island since the pandemic started being reported, which, on the island alone, has left 69 deaths.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 17 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 1685 en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa 660 positivos activos<br \/>\u25aa 652 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable<br \/>\u25aa 3 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>\u25aa 5 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>\u25aa 69 fallecidos<br \/>\u25aa 954 altas<br \/>\u25aa 2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ierSIvo2bY\">https:\/\/t.co\/ierSIvo2bY<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JPSim06IXh\">pic.twitter.com\/JPSim06IXh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1257666980888403969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 5, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The 17 cases reported as of midnight this Monday are Cuban; of them, 10 are women. The most affected age groups are concentrated between 40 and 60 years (7 cases), followed by those over 60 (6); 47.1% of the total was asymptomatic.<\/p>\n<p>The geographical distribution of the new patients is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Havana: 9 cases (2 from the municipality of San Miguel del Padr\u00f3n; the municipalities of Centro Habana, Arroyo Naranjo, Old Havana, Plaza, Cotorro, La Lisa and Diez de Octubre, 1 each).<\/li>\n<li>Mayabeque: 1 case (from San Jos\u00e9 de las Lajas municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Matanzas: 1 case (from C\u00e1rdenas municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Villa Clara: 2 cases (1 from Santa Clara municipality; 1 from Camajuan\u00ed municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Sancti Sp\u00edritus: 1 case (from Sancti Sp\u00edritus municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Camag\u00fcey: 1 case (from Camag\u00fcey municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Holgu\u00edn: 2 cases (from Banes municipality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Dr. Dur\u00e1n, 2,267 patients are still hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance; meanwhile, 6,047 are under primary healthcare surveillance in their homes.<\/p>\n<p>The country has processed a total of 57,711 tests to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, national director of epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) has again given an update on the progress of COVID-19 in Cuba.
