Those recovered already exceed a thousand, and the country has reached the fifth day reporting more discharges than positive cases.<\/p>\n<p>Another good news given by the national director of epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) is that yesterday only 18 new infections were registered, and there were no deaths.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 18 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 1703 en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa 631 positivos activos<br \/>\u25aa 617 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable<br \/>\u25aa 4 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>\u25aa 10 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>\u25aa 69 fallecidos<br \/>\u25aa 1001 altas<br \/>\u25aa 2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VrWjx7rFTm\">https:\/\/t.co\/VrWjx7rFTm<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VDRMVySr83\">pic.twitter.com\/VDRMVySr83<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1258027826965512192?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 6, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The distribution by province of the new positive cases is as follows: Havana, 8; Villa Clara, Sancti Sp\u00edritus, Ciego de \u00c1vila and Holgu\u00edn, 2 each; while Mayabeque and Camag\u00fcey reported one each.<\/p>\n<p>All of the recent infections correspond to Cubans; 12 had contacts with confirmed cases, 3 had the source of infection abroad and in 3 individuals the origin of the infection was not specified; 10 were women.<\/p>\n<p>The most affected age groups are concentrated between 40 to 59 years, with 10 cases, followed by those over 60, with 5 and groups between 20 to 40 years, with 2; 14 people were detected without symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=5100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the information collected by MINSAP<\/a>, 4 patients were in critical condition and 10 were reported as serious.<\/p>\n<p>People admitted to hospitals and care centers numbered 2,341, while 5,992 were under primary healthcare surveillance at home.<\/p>\n<p>Cuba has processed 59,648 tests to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a day of encouraging news for Cuba in its resistance to the coronavirus, Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n reported this Wednesday morning that the figures remain optimistic.
