Now, the records stand at 73 deceased and 1,729 patients with the new coronavirus since the pandemic was detected on the island.<\/p>\n<p>The information was given this morning by Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, national director of epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), who, after regretting the deaths and offering condolences to families, added that 3 people are reported serious and 5 in critical condition.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 26 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 1729 en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa 623 positivos activos<br \/>\u25aa 615 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable<br \/>\u25aa 5 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>\u25aa 3 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>\u25aa 73 fallecidos<br \/>\u25aa 1031 altas<br \/>\u25aa 2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OQ2BXOQKw4\">https:\/\/t.co\/OQ2BXOQKw4<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MP2LK1wY4E\">pic.twitter.com\/MP2LK1wY4E<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1258397722769526785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 7, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The deceased resided in the provinces of Villa Clara, Sancti Sp\u00edritus and Havana. All of them male.<\/p>\n<p>A 83-year-old man, resident in Camajuan\u00ed, Villa Clara, with a history of high blood pressure and ischemic heart disease; another 79 years old, from Guanabacoa, with hypertension, ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and esophageal neoplasia.<\/p>\n<p>The third case corresponds to a 94-year-old man, from San Miguel del Padr\u00f3n, with bronchial asthma and senile dementia; and, the fourth, to a 92-year-old man, from Sancti Sp\u00edritus, with ischemic heart disease and senile dementia. The evolution of all patients appears widely explained in the<a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=5111\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> MINSAP report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The infections reported today correspond to Cubans. Of these, 14 are women and 16 were asymptomatic. The residence by province and municipality of the 26 cases is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artemisa: 1 case (from Caimito municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Havana: 13 cases (6 from the municipality of Habana del Este; San Miguel del Padr\u00f3n and Marianao, 2 each; Old Havana, Centro Habana and Guanabacoa, 1 each).<\/li>\n<li>Matanzas: 1 case (from Matanzas municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Villa Clara: 10 cases (from Santa Clara municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Ciego de \u00c1vila: 1 case (from Ciego de \u00c1vila municipality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A total of 2,370 people continued to be admitted to hospitals and care centers, while 6,362 were under primary healthcare surveillance in their homes, a figure much higher than that reported yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The country has processed 61,613 tests to date, for a 2.8% of positive cases<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday COVID-19 produced 4 deaths and 26 new infections in Cuba.
