Yesterday 12 new infections were reported, although one person died, the authorities from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported today.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent victim of COVID-19 was a woman resident in Plaza de la Revoluci\u00f3n municipality, Havana. She was 77 years old and had <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=5121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a medical history explained in the report<\/a>. Their residence by province and municipality is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Havana: 4 cases (2 from the Arroyo Naranjo municipality; San Miguel del Padr\u00f3n and Centro Habana, 1 each).<\/li>\n<li>Matanzas: 1 case (from C\u00e1rdenas municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Villa Clara: 3 cases (2 from Santa Clara municipality; 1 from Corralillo).<\/li>\n<li>Ciego de \u00c1vila: 2 cases (from the Mor\u00f3n municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Camag\u00fcey: 1 case (from Camag\u00fcey municipality).<\/li>\n<li>Las Tunas: 1 case (from Amancio municipality).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of all the new infections, seven were male; the most affected age groups are concentrated between 40 to 60 years, with 50% of cases, followed by those under 40 (33.3%). Nine of the patients were asymptomatic.<\/p>\n<p>At the close of May 7, 1,986 people were hospitalized for clinical epidemiological surveillance and another 5,264 were under primary healthcare surveillance in their homes.<\/p>\n<p>The country has processed 63,560 tests to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The pace of the pandemic in Cuba continues to show encouraging figures.
