{"id":222437,"date":"2020-06-06T15:07:12","date_gmt":"2020-06-06T19:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=222437"},"modified":"2020-06-06T15:07:12","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T19:07:12","slug":"cuba-reports-about-20-infections-with-coronavirus-on-a-merchant-ship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/cuba-reports-about-20-infections-with-coronavirus-on-a-merchant-ship\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba reports about 20 infections with coronavirus on a merchant ship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/contribute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Help us keep OnCuba alive here<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported this Saturday 40 new infections with <a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coronavirus<\/a>, 22 of them among the crew of a Cuban merchant ship, and there are already 2,173 patients detected on the island.<\/p>\n<p>The ship arrived in the province of Matanzas from Mexico, as explained in the daily press conference on the subject by Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, director of epidemiology of MINSAP, who commented that in this way the number of active cases amounted to 233.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/?p=5597\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official report<\/a>, the confirmed crew members reside in the provinces of Havana, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Las Tunas, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guant\u00e1namo, although they were detected upon arrival on land and, therefore, did not influence the epidemiological behavior of their territories.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining 18 positive cases were reported in Havana, confirming it as the epicenter of the disease in Cuba.
