{"id":22540,"date":"2014-01-31T19:01:18","date_gmt":"2014-01-31T19:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oncubamagazine.com\/?p=22540"},"modified":"2014-02-01T19:09:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-01T19:09:00","slug":"colombia-the-most-awarded-nation-in-casa-de-las-americas-2014-literary-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/styles-trends\/technologies-of-communication-and-media\/colombia-the-most-awarded-nation-in-casa-de-las-americas-2014-literary-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Colombia the most awarded nation in Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas 2014 literary contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After last night&#8217;s award ceremony, Colombia was the most awarded nation in the 55th edition of the Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas 2014 literary contest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After evaluating around 376 works, the competition jury, made up by 22 intellectuals from 12 countries of the region, announced its decision in the genres of short stories, theater, artistic and literary essay, Brazilian and Caribbean literature in English or Creole, plus the Award for studies on woman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a8Cosas peores\u00a8, by Colombian writer Margarita Garcia, won the prize in Story category, a &#8220;consistent&#8221;, &#8220;unitary&#8221; manuscript, with &#8220;solid narrative architecture&#8221;, which gives priority to &#8220;insinuation&#8221; over &#8220;explicit&#8221; according to the jury&#8217;s minutes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her compatriot Carlos Orlando Fino was awarded by \u00a8 Jos\u00e9 Lezama Lima: est\u00e9tica e historiograf\u00eda del arte en su obra cr\u00edtica, \u00a8in the category of artistic-literary theme.
