With the presence of Roberto Smith, president of ICAIC (Spanish acronym of the Cuban Film Institute) and in a room full of people, the independent short film \u00a8Tarde para Ram\u00f3n\u00a8, by young filmmaker Daniel Chile, starring Jorge Perugorr\u00eda and Maydely P\u00e9rez, was premiered this weekend at Infanta movie theater.<\/p>\n
Over three hundred spectators confirmed last Saturday that Daniel Chile\u2019s third short film arrives without trouble or delay to the Cuban young filmmaking panorama through this release.<\/p>\n
Mirapak\u00e1 independent production company, which has conducted Daniel\u2019s previous works, received this time the support of Mexican- American Company Beret Films, also in charge of the distribution of the film. According to its own director: “They are trying to distribute it in some festivals in the United States, Mexico and Spain, but first they would like to present it in Cuba in the Young Sample, at Gibara Festival, Almac\u00e9n de la Imagen Festival …”<\/p>\n
The protagonists<\/p>\n
Able to fill ten minutes with a tremendous emotional charge and put us thinking a lot more time in solitude we sometimes build based on resentment and isolation, the experienced Jorge Perugorr\u00eda and the young actress Maydely Perez commented on Ramon and his daughter Laura, characters they embodied with absolute credibility.<\/p>\n
Perugorr\u00eda said that one of the reasons for which he agreed to participate in the film was precisely Ram\u00f3n: “it was a very nice, very human, very sensitive character, with an interesting conflict. It is really a luxury to work with youth, “and acknowledged the director\u2019s work:” He has many ideas, is eager to work and is very talented. Daniel is clear about what he wants and therefore he managed to write such a nice character like Ramon. “<\/p>\n
While Maydely added, “I was extremely terrified because I was going to work with people whom I had never worked before, Perugorr\u00eda, Daniel, but I felt very good, like in family, very comfortable … I appreciate the opportunity to share with Daniel, Roberto Chile, with each of the team members and of course, with Perugorr\u00eda, who helped me a lot with the character of Laura.”<\/p>\n
The director<\/p>\n
Daniel Chile studied acting at ENA (Spanish acronym of National School of Arts) and Social Communication at Havana University, but he puts all his studies and vocation in terms of what he really likes: making cinema. \u00a8Tres puntos\u00a8 and \u00a8Tunel\u00a8 were his earlier works, now Daniel confesses: “I’ve grown a lot since the spiritual and professional point of view. I take short films as a school where I learn to direct actors, all things that happen to me in the filming process, tangles, shooting situations, teach me a lot. “<\/p>\n
“Directing Perugorr\u00eda was a great experience, he is a very dedicated actor, with whom you can establish a good communication. Sometimes I had to do several takes for different reasons and there was Jorge Perugorr\u00eda waiting, quiet, focused on his character, I transmitted him what I wanted from the character, he suggested me, but mostly he listened to me a lot. “<\/p>\n
The public
\nDuring the premiere, a second room had to be fitted out given the amount of people who attended the cinema. Then, the applause, for all, a frank ovation to a product made with as much passion and talent, later, the whispering, conversation in small groups in the lobby, adjectives and considerations that escape into a higher tone: “very interesting”, “well done”, “terrific”, “I really liked it “…<\/p>\n

The works by the scriptwriter and director was assessed by one of the best known Cuban film critics, Frank Padron, who was responsible for the presentation words of the film: “I think that Cuban audience won an excellent audiovisual producer, with concerns that have passed from one text to another, isolation, loneliness, anguish, the fact of facing life situations that have dualities and always allow second chances though sometimes we do not want to use them, they are invariant now in this new short film and are exploited in an extraordinary and admirable way by a young man who, although with experience, with tools, still has a long way to go. “<\/p>\n
