It is the second highest number of cases for one day, only surpassed on August 11, when 93 contagions were reported.<\/p>\n<p>All those <a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/6921-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus the previous day<\/a> are Cuban; 51 had some contact with confirmed cases and in 17 individuals the source of infection is not specified; 15 acquired the new coronavirus abroad; 46 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 83 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 3 565  en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a><\/p>\n<p>581 positivos activos<br \/>569 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable<br \/>3 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>9 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>88 fallecidos <br \/>2 894 altas m\u00e9dicas<br \/>2 evacuados <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/QYEVyqC8GH\">pic.twitter.com\/QYEVyqC8GH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1296434746684317697?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 20, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The affected regions were Havana, with 62 cases, followed by Villa Clara with five; Artemisa, four; Pinar del R\u00edo and Santiago de Cuba, three each; Holgu\u00edn, two; Mayabeque, Las Tunas, Granma and Guant\u00e1namo, one each.<\/p>\n<p>By age group, the ones with the highest number of contagions are between 21 and 40 years old, with 30 cases, and between 41 and 60, with 28; 12 people over 60 and four under 20 also tested positive for the virus.<\/p>\n<p>Active cases totaled 581, hospitalizations exceeded 1,300 and 31 patients were discharged.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday 5,116 tests were carried out in Cuba in search of the new coronavirus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Help us keep OnCuba alive In a day in which the \u201cindicators are not good,\u201d according to Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, 83 has been the number of new COVID-19 patients in Cuba.
