All Canadian tourists who arrived last Friday at Cayo Coco international airport, in central Cuba, tested negative for COVID-19<\/a>, according to the island\u2019s authorities.<\/p>\n

The 110 visitors from Canada, who arrived on the second flight to the Cuban destination Jardines del Rey from the northern country in September, underwent a real-time PCR test and none are infected with the new coronavirus, according to the Provincial Defense Council of Ciego de \u00c1vila, the province where the airport is located.<\/p>\n

In this way, they joined 25 other Canadians who landed in Cayo Coco the previous week, and who were also tested for COVID-19, following the protocols established for the reopening of the Cuban tourism sector.<\/p>\n

The tourists traveled to Cuba through the Air Canada Vacations tour operator, in charge of restarting tourist operations from the northern country, the main market for visitors to the island before the sector was paralyzed due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
