Bruno Rodr\u00edguez P (@BrunoRguezP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrunoRguezP\/status\/1308735928937197569?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 23, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe reject this politically motivated document, part of the discrediting campaign led by the U.S. against that brotherly people and government,\u201d he concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuba\u2019s reaction came a few days after the publication of the report of the International Mission to analyze possible human rights violations in Venezuela, which details crimes against humanity committed by the government of President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/cuba-venezuela\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Venezuela and Cuba<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have maintained a close political and economic alliance for two decades, a closeness that in the last two years has motivated the United States to tighten sanctions against the Caribbean island, whose government it accuses of propping up Chavismo in power.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"kIdaXwKJBv\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba-ee-uu\/cuba-acusa-a-eeuu-de-crear-el-clima-para-una-intervencion-militar-en-venezuela\/\">Cuba acusa a EEUU de crear el \u201cclima\u201d para una \u201cintervenci\u00f3n militar\u201d en Venezuela<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abCuba acusa a EEUU de crear el \u201cclima\u201d para una \u201cintervenci\u00f3n militar\u201d en Venezuela\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba-ee-uu\/cuba-acusa-a-eeuu-de-crear-el-clima-para-una-intervencion-militar-en-venezuela\/embed\/#?secret=IEL9x3J5wi#?secret=kIdaXwKJBv\" data-secret=\"kIdaXwKJBv\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The document, presented yesterday before the 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council, denounces extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions, torture and other crimes committed by the Venezuelan regime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To draw up the 411-page report, the United Nations International Mission thoroughly analyzed 223 specific cases and investigated some 4,600 deaths at the hands of Venezuelan security forces, as well as more than 3,400 complaints of arbitrary detentions for political reasons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These violations were perpetrated, according to the mission, by members of the Venezuelan state security forces and intelligence services, both civilian and military.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portuguese Marta Vali\u00f1as, president of the UN International Mission, demanded that the Venezuelan authorities guarantee the accountability of those responsible, although the report suggests that courts outside Venezuela, including the International Criminal Court, judge these violations of human rights and freedoms.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;The violations must stop. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Impunity?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Impunity<\/a> must end.
