According to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.granma.cu\/cuba-covid-19\/2020-10-09\/como-funcionara-en-cuba-la-nueva-normalidad-a-partir-del-12-de-octubre-09-10-2020-02-10-14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">what was previously announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the Cuban government, the isolation of vulnerable older adults and those who don\u2019t have conditions in their homes, among other exceptions, will continue outside the home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Carlos Alberto Mart\u00ednez Blanco, director of health in Havana, affirmed that \u201cthe technical, epidemiological and logistical details have already been defined to take on this new stage, in addition to having coverage of human resources in the communities,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tribuna.cu\/coronavirus\/2020-10-13\/a-partir-de-este-miercoles-aislamiento-domiciliario-para-contactos-de-confirmados-y-sospechosos-de-covid-19-en-la-habana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pointed out<\/span><\/a> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tribuna de La Habana<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For his part, the governor of the capital, Reinaldo Garc\u00eda Zapata, called for \u201cworking with profound quality from primary healthcare,\u201d on which a greater weight now falls in the island&#8217;s health strategy to deal with COVID -19.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"fwg5S6dRpz\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/havana-covid-19-and-the-new-normal-i\/\">Havana, COVID-19 and the \u201cnew normal\u201d (I)<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Havana, COVID-19 and the \u201cnew normal\u201d (I)&#8221; &#8212; OnCubaNews English\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/havana-covid-19-and-the-new-normal-i\/embed\/#?secret=IRBVpOaTuK#?secret=fwg5S6dRpz\" data-secret=\"fwg5S6dRpz\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To date, family primary care doctors and nurses were in charge of screening and monitoring vulnerable people in their communities, with the support of medical students, but from now on, they must also attend to suspects and contacts of confirmed cases with the disease who are in home isolation. For this reason, the Havana authorities emphasized that \u201cthe success of this type of home isolation depends largely on the professional performance of the family doctors and the responsibility of the patients.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Havana, which has more than half of the coronavirus cases detected in Cuba and has been the epicenter of the disease in the country for almost the entire pandemic, entered phase 3 of the de-escalation this Monday, after containing a new outbreak that forced the imposition of a night curfew and other strong restrictions in the city last September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the Havana authorities have decided to keep airports closed for the time being, as well as bars, discos, nightclubs and gyms that are not outdoors.
