Santiago, author of anthological songs as “Ansias del Alba”, “La ilusión” or “Para Bárbara”, will be the host of the new program “Lo que la radio nos dejó” to be held every Friday at the Café Cantante of the National Theater of Cuba, which was reopened last Friday, at 11:00 pm. <\/p>\n
In statements to the press, the singer said: "As a kid I waited for the program Nocturno in Radio Progreso (…) That´s why I decided to honor the legendary ‘1960s and ’70s remixing some of the songs I like the most by their poetic and musical values, missing elements in Cuban light music today." <\/p>\n
On the location provided by the National Theatre he said: "It’s actually a dream come true precisely at the Café Cantante of the National Theater, where I began to take my first steps as a musician". <\/p>\n
On this new challenge in his career he added that: "You may listen to versions of Formula V, Nino Bravo, Juan Pardo, Feliciano, Serrat, Silvio and others among my favorites." <\/p>\n
Santiago Feliu, a member of one of the most important generations of the Cuban Nueva Trova movement alongside Gerardo Alfonso, Carlos Varela or Frank Delgado, has shared the stage with dissimilar artists. He has recorded a dozen albums and has outstanding presentations both local and abroad. <\/p>\n
His latest album “Ay, la vida”, like previous ones, is influenced by rock. His guitar work is still over- elaborated but spotless, emotional but complex.
