{"id":229503,"date":"2020-10-24T11:13:11","date_gmt":"2020-10-24T15:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=229503"},"modified":"2020-10-24T11:13:11","modified_gmt":"2020-10-24T15:13:11","slug":"chinese-companies-could-invest-in-cubas-postal-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/chinese-companies-could-invest-in-cubas-postal-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese companies could invest in Cuba\u2019s postal sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chinese companies could invest in the Cuban postal sector, according to what was announced this Friday at a meeting of the Asian country\u2019s ambassador in Havana, Chen Xi, and the president of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/correos-de-cuba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Correos de Cuba<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Carlos Asensio Valerino.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the meeting, officials from both countries assessed \u201cthe possibility of executing investment projects by companies from that Asian country to modernize the postal graphics and the postal processing plant of Correos de Cuba,\u201d according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mincom.gob.cu\/es\/noticia\/cuba-sostienen-conversaciones-presidente-de-corre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a note<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the island\u2019s Ministry of Comunicaciones, which does not mention names of possible interested companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, during the meeting\u2015which took place in a \u201cfraternal, transparent and mutual cooperation\u201d environment\u2015\u201cthe exchange of experiences and good practices in electronic commerce, and the reconciliation of postal exchange between the postal operators of both nations\u201d was also dealt with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the note, the Chinese ambassador \u201cthanked Correos de Cuba for the support received for the postal cancellation carried out recently, on the occasion of commemorating the 60th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Precisely in the context of this anniversary, commemorated on September 28, the governments of Cuba and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/china\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">China<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed an agreement to acquire steel products for repair, maintenance and construction, for more than 93 million yuan, equivalent to more than 13 million dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"7WRL6v4tx2\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-y-china-firman-proyectos-de-colaboracion-economica\/\">Cuba y China firman proyectos de colaboraci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abCuba y China firman proyectos de colaboraci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/cuba-y-china-firman-proyectos-de-colaboracion-economica\/embed\/#?secret=GXC8Wf8vk5#?secret=7WRL6v4tx2\" data-secret=\"7WRL6v4tx2\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca and the Chinese Ambassador to the island signed several legal instruments to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in areas such as health, industry and computerization, among them the one referring to a cooperation project worth more than two million dollars for the future technological modernization of the General Customs of Cuba.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the island also received the second batch of a donation of medical supplies for the prevention and control of COVID-19 offered by the government of the Asian giant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At present, China is Cuba\u2019s main trading partner in Asia and one of the largest in the world.
