{"id":229851,"date":"2020-10-31T12:48:30","date_gmt":"2020-10-31T16:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=229851"},"modified":"2020-10-31T12:48:30","modified_gmt":"2020-10-31T16:48:30","slug":"coronavirus-in-cuba-another-peak-in-october-due-to-new-infections-86-in-one-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/coronavirus-in-cuba-another-peak-in-october-due-to-new-infections-86-in-one-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus in Cuba: another peak in October due to new infections, 86 in one day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to the forecasts of the Cuban health authorities, October is closing with high numbers due to new infections from the <a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SARS-CoV-2 virus<\/a>; in fact, today\u2019s 86 cases represent a new peak this month, which at the beginning of the last week had already surpassed 80 cases.<\/p>\n<p>The most complicated situation is still in Pinar del R\u00edo, with 57 patients located in seven municipalities; 34 of them in the provincial capital.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 87 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 6 mil 887 en <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>512 casos activos <br \/>507 con evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable <br \/>3 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>2 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>128 fallecidos <br \/>6 mil 245 altas m\u00e9dicas <br \/>2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2rwXScOoFI\">https:\/\/t.co\/2rwXScOoFI<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IH7LFwcADV\">pic.twitter.com\/IH7LFwcADV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1322542690219757569?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 31, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It is followed by the provinces of Sancti Sp\u00edritus, with 11 patients in three municipalities; Ciego de \u00c1vila, with eight in the provincial capital; Artemisa, with five in Caimito; Havana, with one in Diez de Octubre; and Camag\u00fcey, with one in the provincial capital.<\/p>\n<p>The only three imported cases of the day are added to the territories of Holgu\u00edn, Santiago de Cuba and Guant\u00e1namo, since the remainder were contacts of confirmed cases (82) and the origin of the disease is not known in a single individual, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/parte-de-cierre-del-dia-30-de-octubre-a-las-12-de-la-noche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> today\u2019s report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All the COVID-19 positive cases corresponded to Cubans and 83 were autochthonous cases.<\/p>\n<p>Again, male patients predominated over female patients (57-29) and, of the total, 60 were asymptomatic.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that the number of tests has almost reached the figure of 9,000 and that 67 people were discharged, in a day in which there were 3,606 hospitalizations.<\/p>\n<p>There were also no deaths on the day, and there were five patients in intensive care: three reported in critical condition and two in serious condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8,994 samples were processed.
