He is not taking sides with a political party, but analyzes the accusations that Biden intends to turn the United States into a \u201csocialist\u201d country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The ghost of socialism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Foolish or not, those claims seem to have had an effect on <a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/cubanos-en-ee-uu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cuban-American<\/a> voters in Florida, among whom Trump has a 48-point advantage, according to a poll published this Thursday by the Telemundo channel.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban-Americans, Venezuelans and Nicaraguans, whom Trump has been courting since the 2016 campaign with promises to restore freedom to their countries, so far unfulfilled, can make a difference in the tight elections in Florida, where the two candidates are virtually tied.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"mMEGTc0gwv\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba-ee-uu\/campana-de-trump-envia-mensaje-a-cubanos-de-florida-con-voz-de-susana-perez\/\">Campa\u00f1a de Trump env\u00eda mensaje a cubanos de Florida con voz de Susana P\u00e9rez<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abCampa\u00f1a de Trump env\u00eda mensaje a cubanos de Florida con voz de Susana P\u00e9rez\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba-ee-uu\/campana-de-trump-envia-mensaje-a-cubanos-de-florida-con-voz-de-susana-perez\/embed\/#?secret=afeGiSz5sL#?secret=mMEGTc0gwv\" data-secret=\"mMEGTc0gwv\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden has been in American politics since 1972 and no one with radical ideas stays this this long in politics,\u201d Grenier affirms.<\/p>\n<p>For this expert in Cubans\u2019 participation in U.S. politics it seems \u201cironic\u201d that the exiles praise the Cuban Constitution of 1940, which was much more advanced socially than what the Democratic Party proposes today, and at the same time they consider Biden socialist and mostly back Trump.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A businessman and a writer with Biden<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Real estate businessman Jorge P\u00e9rez, one of the most successful Cuban-Americans, tells EFE that neither Biden nor Kamala Harris, the vice-presidential candidate, \u201chave a hair of socialists and less of communists\u201d and those \u201cfalse and stupid accusations\u201d are a \u201cdesperate\u201d measure of the Trump campaign.<\/p>\n<p>They want to \u201ccreate fear, especially in South Florida where people have been told that with Biden the U.S. will become like Cuba, Venezuela or Nicaragua. I have dedicated my life and have written several books against socialists and communists, but in this election, I want to emphatically say that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are neither socialists nor communists,\u201d Montaner said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been in exile for many years and I know perfectly the friends of freedom. They are that,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n<p>Neither P\u00e9rez nor Montaner hide that they do not like Trump\u2019s attitude or way of governing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Demagogue and overbearing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump is a dangerous demagogue who has been against immigration (which is what has made the United States), without caring for the environment, with an incredible bias towards wealthy businessmen, against public health within everyone\u2019s reach, against the right of women to have an abortion,\u201d emphasized P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith him, the discrepancy between the poor and the rich will continue to grow. He\u2019s a disaster for the country and the democratic world,\u201d the businessman and art collector said.<\/p>\n<p>Montaner has given numerous examples in his articles of why he does not want Trump for four more years in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>He doesn\u2019t like the current president\u2019s \u201ccharacter as an arrogant and overbearing person who lies or exaggerates,\u201d who constantly shouts and interrupts the adversary in a debate, his relations with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, and his \u201cscientific denial\u201d during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>For the same reasons, P\u00e9rez urges to vote for Biden and defends the idea that Latinos will be important in these elections.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"k7peAqADm0\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/mundo\/ee-uu\/joe-biden-y-los-latinos\/\">Joe Biden y los latinos<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"\u00abJoe Biden y los latinos\u00bb \u2014 OnCubaNews\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/mundo\/ee-uu\/joe-biden-y-los-latinos\/embed\/#?secret=1ERUwFUAD3#?secret=k7peAqADm0\" data-secret=\"k7peAqADm0\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a minority that grows more than any other. As immigrants and many times without rights, we have to strongly support Biden,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>As a businessman and in the same sector as Donald Trump, he believes that Trump has been \u201cgood for the rich, bad for the middle class and the poor. For example, my taxes have been lowered a lot and I have become much richer,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe gap between the very rich and the others has increased and the poverty rate has risen more than ever,\u201d said P\u00e9rez, who doesn\u2019t believe that Trump has done a great job with the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnemployment is still very high and everything that had been achieved during Obama (he left the country in a very good situation), has been disrupting by him,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Bay of Pigs veteran for Biden<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Among the Cubans for Biden who have attracted the most attention is a veteran of the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, Santiago Morales, who was captured and spent 18 years in prison in Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>Morales has also recorded a campaign video, paid for by the political action committee of Mike Bloomberg, former mayor of New York, asking Cuban-Americans to vote for Biden.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" socialists nor communists,\u201d the 78-year-old veteran says in a video titled <em>We Are Patriots<\/em> in which he calls Trump a \u201clittle character\u201d and compares him to Fidel Castro and Hugo Ch\u00e1vez.<\/p>\n<p>The association that groups together the veterans of the 2506 Bay of Pigs Brigade has given its support to Trump in these
