{"id":230029,"date":"2020-11-06T11:09:03","date_gmt":"2020-11-06T16:09:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=230029"},"modified":"2020-11-06T11:09:03","modified_gmt":"2020-11-06T16:09:03","slug":"cuba-44-new-cases-and-one-death-from-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/cuba-44-new-cases-and-one-death-from-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba: 44 new cases and one death from COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/contribute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Help us keep OnCuba alive<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cuban Ministry of Public Health of Cuba (MINSAP) reported 44 new cases of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COVID-19<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at the end of this Thursday, a day in which 40 discharges were given and one person died on the island\u2015from the central province of Sancti Sp\u00edritus\u2015from the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since last March, Cuba already has detected a total of 7,228 cases, as well as 6,542 recovered patients\u201590.5% of all cases\u2015and 130 deaths, for a fatality rate of 1.8%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of yesterday, 3,736 patients were hospitalized on the island for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Of them, 1,063 were suspects, 2,119 were under surveillance and 554 were confirmed, according to MINSAP\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/parte-de-cierre-del-dia-5-de-noviembre-a-las-12-de-la-noche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of those active, 550 have a stable clinical evolution, three are in critical condition and one in serious condition. One minor and six people over 60 years old infected by the new coronavirus were also detected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, the 27 autochthonous cases were from the provinces of Pinar del R\u00edo, with 23\u2015which confirms it as the current epicenter of the epidemic on the island\u2015and Sancti Sp\u00edritus, with four.
