{"id":231469,"date":"2020-12-09T17:39:36","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T22:39:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=231469"},"modified":"2020-12-09T17:39:36","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T22:39:36","slug":"coronavirus-cuba-again-reports-124-new-cases-in-one-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/coronavirus-cuba-again-reports-124-new-cases-in-one-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus: Cuba again reports 124 new cases in one day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) again reported 124 new cases of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/tag\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coronavirus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0at the close of this Tuesday, equaling the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/cuba-reports-daily-record-of-patients-with-covid-19-with-124-new-cases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of infections in a day reached two days ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the island exceeded 9,000 infections detected since the beginning of the pandemic (a total of 9,106), while it did not register new deaths and 90 patients were discharged. Now, the number of fatalities remains at 136 and that of recovered patients stands at 8,137.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, there are 4,227 patients hospitalized for epidemiological clinical surveillance in the country and active cases rose to 831, one of the highest figures in nine months of confrontation with COVID-19. Of these patients, 119 are Cuban and five are foreigners, while 81 were contacts of confirmed cases, 41 had their source of infection abroad and in two the origin of the contagion is unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">66.1% (82) of the new patients were asymptomatic, with which since March 5,824 people, 63.9% of those confirmed to date, had no symptoms at the time of diagnosis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thirteen Cuban provinces reported cases in the last day, which confirms the spread of the disease. Artemisa, with 30 (2 of them imported), and Havana, with 26 (16 of them imported) headed the list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rest of the new patients were from Pinar del R\u00edo (3 cases, 1 of them imported), Matanzas (7 imported cases), Villa Clara (12 cases, 2 of them imported), Sancti Sp\u00edritus (12 cases, 1 of them imported), Ciego de \u00c1vila (3 imported cases), Camag\u00fcey (3 imported cases), Holgu\u00edn (1 imported case), Granma (9 cases, 1 of them imported), Santiago de Cuba (11 cases, 1 of them imported), Guant\u00e1namo (6 cases, 3 of them imported) and Isla de la Juventud (1 case).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) again reported 124 new cases of coronavirus\u00a0at the close of this Tuesday, equaling the record of infections in a day reached two days ago.
