In addition, active cases rose to 5,100, another negative mark that is not higher today thanks to yesterday\u2019s 697 discharges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As an incentive, recovered cases amount to more than 20,000 (20,310) since last March.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this time, 11,684 people are hospitalized in Cuba for reasons related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. In addition, 440 are female and 470 male, while 375 were asymptomatic at the time of their diagnosis, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/parte-de-cierre-del-dia-28-de-enero-a-las-12-de-la-noche-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the most recent report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the MINSAP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By age group, 99 are under 20 years old\u2013of them, 83 are of pediatric ages\u2013, 339 are between 20 and 39 years old, 310 are between 40 and 59 years old, and 162 are over 60.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding this, in his usual morning press conference, Dr. Francisco Dur\u00e1n, national director of Epidemiology of the MINSAP, was alarmed by the high number of pediatric patients in recent weeks, already detected this January and which represent more than half of the confirmed cases in this age group since the start of the pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As if that were not enough, among the patients with COVID-19 under 18 years of age, more than 40% are infants of three months or less, the specialist said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, by province, Havana registered a peak of 415 infected, its highest number not only in the current outbreak but since it reported its first cases last year. Guant\u00e1namo (130), Santiago de Cuba (90), Pinar del R\u00edo (44), Villa Clara (41) and Matanzas (40) also showed numbers in red.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this, the infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 15 days grew in Cuba to 72.72, a number that, moreover, does not take into account infected cases.
