The death rate is now 0.61%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding new infections, the majority (764) correspond to autochthonous transmission and eight were imported cases. In contrast, Ciego de \u00c1vila reported four cases and Las Tunas one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The intensive care wards also reported an increase in their patients, raising the figure <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/coronavirus-in-cuba-more-discharges-fewer-infections-more-patients-in-intensive-care\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the highest point that had been recorded in the country<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, again 73, although now with more people in serious condition: 30 are in critical condition and 43 in serious condition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This situation has been worsening since last February 4 a peak was reported in the country\u2019s ICUs due to the pandemic, a situation that has not changed much since then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of midnight on Tuesday, 22,947 were under some type of hospitalization while the confirmed active cases totaled 4,516.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the MINSAP, 18,678 samples were processed and the number of reported discharges reached 857 patients. 52.5% of the cases were asymptomatic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">March already has a total of 7,789 infections due to the
