At that time, fruits and vegetables, handicrafts, charcoal and ecological wood were among the products of the Cuban private sector \u201cwith a higher presence in the international market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This increase is part of \u201cthe efforts being made on the island to increase the management of all economic actors,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.granma.cu\/cuba\/2021-04-08\/mas-de-1-700-contratos-de-importacion-y-exportacion-con-el-cuentapropismo-consolidan-comercio-exterior-cubano-08-04-2021-11-04-03\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pointed out<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the official newspaper <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Granma<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which recalls that \u201cthis strategy was promoted since the middle of last year, with the authorization of a group of state entities to provide contract management services between private workers and foreign clients.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So far, there are 41 state enterprises authorized to manage private sector imports and exports, added the publication, according to which this has the purpose of \u201cboosting the economy and facing the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d while contemplating \u201cexport and import facilities\u201d for forms of non-state management, regulated in various resolutions and a regulation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe idea is that the exporter is the one who receives the greatest benefits since 80% of the income in a foreign currency will remain in his hands, while the remaining 20% goes to the economy in national currency,\u201d explained the head of MINCEX, Rodrigo Malmierca, cited by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Granma<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"DduHmYjdtE\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/el-marabuzal\/importar-por-cuenta-propia\/\">\u00bfImportar por href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/gobierno-cubano-da-luz-verde-a-las-exportaciones-importaciones-y-al-mercado-mayorista-para-el-sector-privado\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">had affirmed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that this modality was approved by the authorities with the aim that \u201cCuban exports grow, for imports to be more rational and encouraging the linkage between the different productive sectors\u201d and \u201cnot so that the enterprise (state-owned in charge of providing this service) becomes more profitable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official daily pointed out that \u201cin order to continue developing exports through an organized process respecting the established rules, small farmers who are not cooperative members or who hold state lands in usufruct, artisans and creators have joined this foreign trade activity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, specialists are of the opinion that, due to the existing potential in the island\u2019s private sector, the possibilities of exporting and importing are much greater than the figures reached so far, and have suggested changes in the existing mechanisms and regulations with a view to giving greater stimulus and facilities to non-state forms of management
