{"id":237424,"date":"2021-04-12T13:01:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T17:01:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=237424"},"modified":"2021-04-12T13:01:41","modified_gmt":"2021-04-12T17:01:41","slug":"cuba-registers-eight-deaths-from-covid-19-a-new-daily-record-of-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/cuba-registers-eight-deaths-from-covid-19-a-new-daily-record-of-deaths\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuba registers eight deaths from COVID-19, a new daily record of deaths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuba woke up this Monday with a record of deaths as a result of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SARS-CoV-2 virus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: eight reported during Sunday, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/parte-de-cierre-del-dia-11-de-abril-a-las-12-de-la-noche-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the report issued this Monday<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are six women and two men, between 48 and 90 years old, and they are from the municipalities of Encrucijada (Villa Clara), Bayamo (Granma), Jovellanos (Matanzas), San Juan y Mart\u00ednez (Pinar del R\u00edo), Centro Habana, Guanabacoa, Boyeros and Arroyo Naranjo (Havana).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With these deaths, the pandemic\u2019s death toll is 467; of them, 42 are from the first 11 days of April.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Se confirmaron 854 nuevos casos de <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a>, para un acumulado de 87385<\/p>\n<p>4962 casos activos <br \/>4904 evoluci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica estable <br \/>33 pacientes en estado cr\u00edtico<br \/>25 pacientes en estado grave<br \/>467 fallecidos (8 en el d\u00eda) <br \/>81900 pacientes recuperados <br \/>2 evacuados<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HASGoxZudq\">https:\/\/t.co\/HASGoxZudq<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6vfgnTfvJU\">pic.twitter.com\/6vfgnTfvJU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ministerio de Salud P\u00fablica de Cuba (@MINSAPCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1381610910326915077?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 12, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding infections, they decreased to 854 after the processing of 21,799 samples, with high positivity during the day in the provinces of Granma, Havana, Matanzas and Sancti Sp\u00edritus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the patients from COVID-19 are due to autochthonous transmission (842), 816 were contacts of confirmed cases and in 12 individuals the origin of the infection occurred abroad, mostly due to Cuban travelers from Russia. Only one was traveling from another country, the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, two foreigners were reported with the disease, but they owe the contagion to autochthonous transmission.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By territories, Havana (424 cases), Matanzas (112), Granma (84) and Santiago de Cuba (65) presented the highest figures. Las Tunas, on the other hand, reported the lowest number of infections: seven cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Regarding the incidence rate, the Matanzas municipality of Pedro Betancourt joined the 12 municipalities that concentrate 45.1% of transmission per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 15 days. Now, with Jag\u00fcey Grande included, Matanzas is part of a group, also made up of eight of the capital\u2019s municipalities, one from Sancti Sp\u00edritus (Cabaigu\u00e1n) and another from Granma (Bayamo).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Until midnight, 24,945 people were under surveillance, the confirmed active cases dropped to 4,962 and there were 58 patients in intensive care: 33 in critical condition and 25 in serious condition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the behavior by age group, 141 had not reached the age of 20; 267 were aged between 20 and 39; 298 between 40 and 59; and 148 were over 60.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">45% of today\u2019s patients were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, the MINSAP confirmed.
