The <\/span>Cuban Telecommunications Enterprise (ETECSA)<\/span><\/a> denied rumors about the supposed end of the payment of mobile balance recharges from outside the island, as of May, as reported this Thursday by the <\/span>Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN)<\/span><\/a> news agency<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFalse news about the International Mobile Recharge service is circulating on social networks. In this regard, we inform you that ETECSA will continue to provide this service, as well as the promotional offers that are implemented based on the available commercialization conditions,\u201d the enterprise clarified in its profiles on social networks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with the denial, ETECSA published on Facebook an image with the false information, which also reads that the owner of the line must recharge in person and justify the origin of the money used for it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The island\u2019s state telecommunications monopoly asked its users not to be fooled by rumors spread on social networks and recommended that they obtain information through the official profiles of the enterprise and its <\/span>website<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

In March, ETECSA published its work projections for this year, which include expanding its portfolio of services and working on the deployment of broadband Internet access technologies, the ACN said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The enterprise reported that Cuba will expand the fourth generation (4G) cellular <\/span>internet<\/span><\/a> network to 121 municipalities on the island in 2021, which represents a coverage of 51 more municipalities than those that currently have this service, according to official sources.<\/span><\/p>\n

The deputy head of the Cuban Ministry of Communications (MINCOM), Ana Julia Marine, explained that the transition from analog to digital television will release the 700 megahertz (MHz) band, which will help in the deployment of the LTE network, <\/span>Prensa Latina (PL)<\/span><\/a> reported.<\/span><\/p>\n
