The commission that will prepare the draft of the new Cuban Family Code was recently published in the\u00a0 <\/span>Gaceta Oficial<\/span><\/a>, according to state media.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>\u00a0Agreement Number 149<\/span><\/a> of the Council of State, the group is made up of 31 people, who are responsible for \u201cperfecting the work carried out for years on different versions of the document,\u201d <\/span>according<\/span><\/a> to the Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN) news agency.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, it is responsible for \u201cexpanding the necessary studies and consultations\u201d for the final drafting of the Code, \u201cin order to comply with the Legislative Schedule, updated in December 2020.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The agency points out that previously \u201cdifferent versions of the draft have been prepared by deputies, representatives of mass and social organizations, specialists and professors, all experts on the subject.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The commission was approved by the Council of State in late March. At that time, the National Assembly did not disclose the names of its members, although it specified that they were \u201cdeputies, representatives of mass and social organizations, specialists and professors.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
