{"id":239739,"date":"2021-05-31T13:15:22","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T17:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=239739"},"modified":"2021-05-31T13:16:36","modified_gmt":"2021-05-31T17:16:36","slug":"coronavirus-in-cuba-eight-deaths-1100-infections-and-1195-discharges-this-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/coronavirus-in-cuba-eight-deaths-1100-infections-and-1195-discharges-this-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"Coronavirus in Cuba: eight deaths, 1,100 infections and 1,195 discharges this Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SARS-CoV-2 virus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> produced 1,100 infections and its disease, COVID-19, left eight deaths on Sunday, according to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/parte-de-cierre-del-dia-30-de-mayo-a-las-12-de-la-noche-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report issued<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) this Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eight deceased, with which the death toll from coronavirus now stands at 958 on the island, correspond to five men and three women, aged between 50 and 83 years and residing in municipalities of Havana, Matanzas and Sancti Sp\u00edritus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the infections are due to autochthonous transmission <\/span>(1,073)<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 1,034 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases and imported cases dropped to 27.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The incidence at this point again involves Cuban travelers from Russia (18), Spain (three), Colombia (three), the United States (two) and Chile (one). The number of diagnosed in this age group was 166 today and they were part of the 192 diagnosed under the age of 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By age group, 349 are aged between 20 and 39 years; 381 between 40 and 59, while there were 178 over 60 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Havana, with the highest incidence rate in the country, is followed by Mayabeque and Santiago de Cuba, and registered 497 infections. In this way, once again it has the highest number of cases in 24 hours, underlining its epidemiological situation whereby nine of its municipalities are part of the 12 that represent 32.9% of transmission in the last two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, of the 105 events open in Cuba, 71 are in the capital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sandino municipality of Pinar del R\u00edo has the highest incidence rate: 774.3 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 15 days.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By number of infections, the territories that followed Havana on Sunday were Santiago de Cuba (140), Camag\u00fcey (64) and Pinar del R\u00edo (54).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the contrary, the special municipality of Isla d,e la Juventud reported the lowest figure, with four cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of midnight, 26,694 people were under some kind of hospitalization due to this disease and there were 6,036 confirmed active cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of today\u2019s cases 46% were asymptomatic at the time of
