Dynamically, the NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have been <\/span>gaining space<\/span><\/a> in the Cuban visual panorama, despite the difficulty in access to the Internet on the island, in terms of prices and connection speed, two fundamental elements for those starting in this new world of the digital environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The creation of several platforms (Clit Splash, <\/span>NFT.Fac<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>NFTcuban.Art<\/span><\/a>) in recent months, has allowed hundreds of artists to insert their works as NFT on various platforms and thus promote the commercialization of their works, alternatives that are more than effective given the shortage of <\/span>physical exhibition spaces<\/span><\/a> in Cuba, due to restrictions because of <\/span>COVID-19<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cuban Women Art<\/span><\/i> is the <\/span>exhibition<\/span><\/a> taking place these days in that context of digital art, where 20 women show their works with a variety of formats that we can rarely find in traditional spaces for the exhibition of artworks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visual and exhibition wealth that NFTs provide is evidenced in the exhibition, where some of the visual artists intervene in a personal capacity, while others do so through different projects such as those mentioned above.<\/span><\/p>\n

Photographs, drawings, illustrations, collages, videos…the means are diverse and converge in the same space, where the feminine travels through various aspects to acquire meanings that complement each other and show a fairly comprehensive outlook of the protagonists\u2019 artistic work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Names such as <\/span>Evelyn Sosa<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Idania del Rio<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Dayani Mu\u00f1oz<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Claudia Padr\u00f3n<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Denise Roque<\/span><\/a>, Simone Garc\u00eda Bacallao, <\/span>Liz Capote<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Yinet Pereira<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Kina Matahari<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Diana Rubi<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Sandra Guerra Bianchini<\/span><\/a>, are some of those repeated among the 41 pieces on exhibition in <\/span>Cuban Women Art<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The intimacy of the female body in the works <\/span>The Hori-Hori Knife Will Bury Your Tears<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>From Ada\u2019s Rib\u2026<\/span><\/i> (Simone Garc\u00eda Bacallao), <\/span>Living it<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Yolanda Santa Cruz<\/span><\/a>), <\/span>Farewell<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Nadia D\u00edaz Graveran<\/span><\/a>), <\/span>Three muses<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Irenilla<\/span><\/a>), <\/span>Political Stance<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>69 Lao Tzu<\/span><\/i>, the last two by Kina Matahari, are pieces that explore various sensual\/sexual aspects of the female anatomy, and in turn dialogue with the body positive, the acceptance of the bodies, the sexual act and the expressions and meanings that these elements come to represent for women, away from macho or conservative gazes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The portrait also stands out in this exhibition, with an exquisite selection in the visual environment, with works such as <\/span>Mariana<\/span><\/i> (Evelyn Sosa), <\/span>Renpet<\/span><\/i> (Claudia Padr\u00f3n), <\/span>Nuances<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Sea Woman<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Denise Roque<\/span><\/a>), and the hyper-realistic pieces by Diana Rubi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also standing out are the works by Dayani Mu\u00f1oz, two digital collages that, under the discourse of female empowerment and an aesthetic that plays with kitsch, resizes messages in the fragments that make up their montages, where the cluster of intertexts \u2014 many times with recognized patterns \u2014 is conditioned to frame a strong discourse in the pieces <\/span>History told by icons (Collage 1) <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>A day in heaven<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
