1000 Cuban-peso banknotes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The watermark (image of Celia S\u00e1nchez) on the new banknotes is replaced by the image of the martyr found on the obverse of the banknotes, the note style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These images correspond to Frank Pa\u00eds on the 200 peso bills; Ignacio Agramonte on those of 500, and Julio Antonio Mella on those of 1000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the BCC announcement, the new banknotes will gradually enter into circulation and previous issues of banknotes of the same denomination remain legal tender.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High-denomination banknotes in CUP, with a value of 200, 500 and 1000, started circulating in the country in February
