The Avangenio <\/span>private business<\/span><\/a>, in alliance with the Cuban Neuroscience Center (CNEURO), is developing a computer app called Rx-COVID-19 that could help improve the <\/span>treatment<\/span><\/a> protocol for <\/span>coronavirus<\/span><\/a> patients on the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leader of the venture, Deivi Carmona, explained that the software will allow the creation of a central repository of infected patients\u2019 chest X-rays, and will allow the development of artificial intelligence methods that improve the quality of the image and the extraction of information from it, in addition to recognizing the quantification and classification of lesions, the Agencia Cubana de Noticias news agency <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also explained that, among other functions, the app will have a confidentiality framework to protect the personal information of patients.<\/span><\/p>\n

Carmona assured that the apk includes a user manual and a simple interface, easy to understand and handle by doctors and specialists, in addition to allowing the generation of reports and usage reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the source, to verify the reliability of the product under development, test workshops have been held with specialists from the Information Technology Company (ETI), the BioCubaFarma group and the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED).<\/span><\/p>\n

Avangenio is a private enterprise that brings together a group of computer application developers with more than five years of experience, while CNEURO, a state entity with more than 40 years of work in the development and commercialization of neurotechnologies, has been one of the institutions most outstanding in the development of equipment and the improvement of the medical protocol to treat COVID-19 in Cuba.<\/span><\/p>\n

In February of this year, the center set up a facility to manufacture the swabs that are used for taking samples for PCR tests.<\/span><\/p>\n
