account of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), the entity that developed the drug, which specified that \u201csubjects previously vaccinated\u201d against the infectious charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Mambisa vaccine candidate, one of the five created on the island against COVID-19, has as a novelty that it can be applied \u201cby means of a nasal spray, a drop dispenser or by means of a Cuban device with a syringe.\u201d It is \u201ca unique formulation of this type based on the platform of recombinant-produced antigens, a technology with high security,\u201d according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prensa-latina.cu\/2021\/11\/20\/aprueban-en-cuba-estudio-con-candidato-anticovid-19-mambisa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">official information cited <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by Prensa Latina (PL).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The press agency also reported that this drug \u201cis being evaluated together with the Abdala vaccine, also from the CIGB, in a phase II clinical trial since November 3 for patients convalescing from COVID-19 that is being carried out at the Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital\u201d in Havana, which included people allergic to thimerosal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA total of 120 volunteers from the same group were summoned last July in phase I of the clinical trial for convalescents with the same drugs,\u201d said PL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For its part, the Agencia Cubana de Noticias (ACN) news agency <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acn.cu\/salud\/87459-autoriza-cecmed-estudio-clinico-de-candidato-vacunal-mambisa-como-dosis-de-refuerzo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recalled<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that \u201crecently the CECMED issued a positive opinion in favor of the booster dose with the Cuban Soberana 02 and Abdala COVID-19 vaccines.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"2KxKRXyj6Q\"><p><a against the disease, has already begun to apply booster doses to health workers and other risk groups, as part of a strategy that will later be extended to the rest of the
