and approved by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/tag\/state-council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Council of State<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Republic of Cuba during its session this Tuesday, according to official media reports on the island.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/AsambleaCuba\/status\/1483626021412814849?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1483626021412814849%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Foncubanews.com%2Fcuba%2Fcuba-consejo-de-estado-aprueba-dos-nuevos-proyectos-de-leyes%2F<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to what was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.granma.cu\/cuba\/2022-01-19\/listos-dos-nuevos-decretos-leyes-para-su-presentacion-a-la-asamblea-nacional-19-01-2022-00-01-31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by the official newspaper <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Granma<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, said government body agreed that the parliamentarians analyze and discuss both texts in the next session of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/tag\/cuban-national-assembly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0National Assembly of People\u2019s Power (ANPP)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and that, as has happened with previous bills, they be published on the website for study and enrichment with the criteria issued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The draft of the Law on Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security establishes the general legal framework to \u201cachieve food sovereignty and strengthen food and nutritional security based on the protection of the right of every person to healthy and adequate food.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, it regulates the organization of \u201csovereign and sustainable local food systems that articulate the production, transformation, marketing and consumption of food in an intersectoral and interinstitutional way,\u201d the media outlet pointed out.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"zMA1ToxxWk\"><p><a Personal Data Protection bill seeks to \u201cguarantee the right of people to the protection of their personal data; to regulate the use and treatment of these by public and private persons or entities, as well as public information; and contribute to the promotion, encouragement and dissemination of a culture on its protection in society.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two documents, now on their way to parliament, are expected to become laws during 2022 according to the legislative schedule approved by the ANPP at its session at the end of last year, and which includes another 25 future laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Parliament President Esteban Lazo Hern\u00e1ndez, the 2022 legislative agenda will be the most intense compared to previous stages, since what was approved in 2021 by the ANPP will be followed up on essential issues for economic and social development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among its projections is the approval of the new Penal Code and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/tag\/family-code\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Family Code<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the latter at the gates of a process of popular consultation and prior referendum, as established by the Constitution of the Republic.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"494eUaJqOQ\"><p><a regulations that must be approved or updated as a result of the new Constitution, that must be submitted to a popular referendum before becoming law has caused disagreement in sectors such as the LGBTI community, in disagreement that the rights of minority groups have to be endorsed by the majority of the country\u2019s population.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, other sectors, especially linked to religious practices and beliefs, are opposed to the new proposal becoming law, since it would open the door to a future approval of marriage between people of the
