University of Minnesota (UNM), of the United States, signed a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/salud.msp.gob.cu\/escuela-nacional-de-salud-publica-y-universidad-de-minnesota-firman-memorando-de-entendimiento\/?doing_wp_cron=1652214309.5952830314636230468750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">memorandum of understanding<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in order to strengthen their academic and research ties, the island\u2019s Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported this Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purpose of the document signed in Havana by representatives of the MINSAP School and the U.S. university is to establish cooperation between professors and students of both institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MINSAPCuba\/status\/1524125085493252096?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1524125085493252096%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Foncubanews.com%2Fcuba%2Finstitucion-cubana-y-universidad-de-eeuu-refuerzan-intercambio-en-areas-de-salud%2F<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The idea is also to collaborate in the areas of disease prevention, providing health services, training of professionals and epidemiological and medical research, as well as the development of joint lectures and symposiums, exchange of publications and bilateral visits of students and professors, according to what was reported by the MINSAP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The director of ENSAP, Pastor Castell-Florit, pointed out that the understanding means a \u201cfurther step\u201d in the advancement of these exchanges and considered that \u201cit will pave the way for future collaborations and alliances for the benefit of the health of our peoples and the planet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Likewise, he highlighted that the numerous bilateral exchanges that they have maintained, in particular with the faculties of Nursing and Public Health, \u201chave allowed the presence in Cuba of several delegations of students and professors, as well as the participation of Cuban professors in scientific events and publications sponsored by the UNM.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the UMN, the document was signed by the dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Connie Delaney; the Dean of International Programs,
