One of them, the leader of Brothers to the Rescue, Jos\u00e9 Basulto, has just sued Netflix, its distributor, and its production team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBasulto is falsely portrayed as the leader and recruiter of a terrorist organization that actively participates in and coordinates terrorist and drug trafficking activities,\u201d says the text of the lawsuit, filed in a Miami federal court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The film, which since its premiere in June 2020 has been seen by 192 million viewers, is announced on the Netflix site as \u201ca true and exciting story in which Cuban spies infiltrate exile groups in the 1990s to stop terrorism against the island, at a high personal cost.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u2018Wasp Network\u2019 - The Cuban Five -Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fPN0GKUazcw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basulto\u2019s lawsuit comes two years after another lawsuit filed by Ana Margarita Mart\u00ednez, who was the couple of the spy Juan Pablo Roque. Mart\u00ednez sued the streaming company for discrediting her reputation by showing her as a person of alleged \u201cimmoral sexual behavior\u201d leading a life of luxury, with money from drug trafficking and terrorist activities, according to the letter sent by her lawyers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBasulto is suing Netflix because there was malice on the part of the company. His reputation has suffered because the film accuses him of something very ugly, of being a terrorist and a drug trafficker,\u201d Le\u00f3n Hirzel, lawyer for Basulto and Mart\u00ednez, told the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miami Herald<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> newspaper, indicating that Mart\u00ednez\u2019s case is progressing very well and that a strategy was elaborated two years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The film focuses on the work of five Cubans who received long prison sentences for their activities in the United States. In Cuba they are known as the Five Heroes: Gerardo Hern\u00e1ndez, Ram\u00f3n Laba\u00f1ino, Fernando Gonz\u00e1lez, Ren\u00e9 Gonz\u00e1lez and Antonio
