Cuba\u2019s position on this issue is clear and categorical. These statements are unsubstantiated,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said this Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Las afirmaciones del Secretario de Estado de los Estados Unidos sobre la presencia de una base de espionaje de China en Cuba constituyen una falsedad.<\/p>\n<p>La posici\u00f3n de <a charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blinken affirmed this same Monday that in 2019 China had carried out an update of its intelligence facilities from Cuba and that the Biden administration was informed since January 2021 about a \u201cseries of sensitive efforts by Beijing around the world\u201d to expand abroad its operations of this type.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cCuba is not a threat\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cuban foreign minister stressed that the purpose of the accusations is to serve as a pretext to maintain the \u201ceconomic blockade that Washington has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades,\u201d as well as the maximum pressure measures that have reinforced it in recent years, \u201cthe object of growing international rejection and also within the United States, which includes the demand to remove Cuba from the arbitrary list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bruno Rodr\u00edguez pointed out that Cuba is not a threat to the United States, nor to any country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe United States applies a policy that daily threatens and punishes the Cuban population as a whole\u2026it has imposed and has dozens of military bases in our region, and it also maintains, against the will of the Cuban people, a military base in territory that it illegally occupies in the province of Guant\u00e1namo,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Foreign Ministry statements\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last Thursday and Sunday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Fern\u00e1ndez de Coss\u00edo <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/minrex-continua-especulacion-calumniosa-sobre-supuesto-centro-de-espionaje-chino-en-cuba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">denounced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the \u201cslanderous speculation\u201d related to the alleged Chinese espionage base, based on statements released by various U.S. media and international press agencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Coss\u00edo, the purpose is \u201cto cause damage and alarm without observing minimum communication patterns and without providing data or evidence to support what they disseminate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blinken assured this June 12 that the Biden administration \u201chas a strategy to counter Chinese espionage in Cuba and other countries\u201d and that the Democrat \u201cgave instructions to address this challenge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have executed this strategy quietly, carefully, but in our opinion with results,\u201d said the senior official at a press
